Fiber Splicer

Responsibilities: As a Fiber Splicing Technician, you are responsible for creating end-to-end fiber optic networks. You believe in doing the job right, being the best and are prepared for the challenge. Additionally, you will perform the following tasks: Test and troubleshoot continuity issues in fiber optic networks. Operate all testing equipment and be skilled in resolving common challenges in fiber optic networks. Have experience in preparing fiber splicing boxes, such as Tyco, Commscope, Corning, etc. Use fusion splicing machines, OTDR (Optical Time Domain Reflectometer) test equipment 1310, 1550, DWDM, CWDM, 945 OLTS, Max Tester and power meter. Have knowledge of fiber engineering, read documentation, understand light levels and dB loss. Work on outdoor utility construction sites.

You have 3 to 5 years of experience in fiber splicing and problem solving. You are comfortable working on a ladder or in a bucket truck. You are flexible and enjoy a variety of shifts, including overtime. MOS codes V80B, B05A, 3D157, 6423 and 5699 relate well to this position.
