CNY Family Care, LLP, a busy primary care practice in East Syracuse, seeks a Medical Laboratory Technologist/Technician to perform diagnostic testing that supports family and internal medicine providers. Responsibilities include specimen collection and processing, conducting hematology, chemistry, urinalysis, and immunology tests, operating and maintaining analyzers, and ensuring strict quality control and regulatory compliance. You’ll collaborate closely with physicians and nurses, document results in the EMR, communicate critical values, and help optimize workflows. Perform routine and specialized clinical laboratory tests on blood and body fluids Operate, calibrate, and maintain laboratory instruments and analyzers Follow established protocols, quality control, and safety procedures Prepare, label, and process specimens for analysis and send-outs Verify and document test results, identifying and resolving discrepancies Communicate critical and abnormal results promptly to providers Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and care teams to support patient care Maintain accurate records, logs, and documentation in the LIS/EMR Manage reagents, supplies, and inventory; assist with ordering Participate in continuing education and competency assessments Clinical laboratory testing Phlebotomy and specimen handling Hematology analysis Clinical chemistry analysis Urinalysis and microscopy Laboratory information systems (LIS) Quality control and assurance Instrument calibration and maintenance Infection control and safety protocols Regulatory compliance (CLIA/OSHA) Medical Insurance Dental Insurance Vision Insurance 401k New York State Clinical Laboratory Technologist or Technician license (or eligibility) ASCP or equivalent national certification preferred (MLT/MLS) BLS certification preferred Competency in phlebotomy and specimen processing
