DNS/DHCP (DDI) Engineer Fully Remote | 6-Month Contract | Potential for Long-Term Extension Swoon is hiring for our banking client for a fully remote DNS/DHCP (DDI) Engineer opportunity. This is a 6-month contract with strong potential for long-term extension based on performance and business needs. Join a global infrastructure team supporting a large enterprise DNS, DHCP, and IP address management environment. You’ll help shape DNS architecture, support a major migration to DNS Anycast, and drive infrastructure improvements across critical banking systems.
What You’ll Do:
Design, build, and support enterprise DNS, DHCP, and IPAM infrastructure across a global environment.
Help lead the migration from traditional DNS architecture to DNS Anycast.
Evaluate existing architecture and recommend improvements to reliability, scalability, security, and performance.
Support internal, external, and hybrid cloud DNS environments, including AWS, Azure, and Akamai.
Troubleshoot complex production issues, perform root cause analysis, and provide advanced engineering support.
Maintain and modify Python or Bash automation scripts and support API integrations.
Partner with cross-functional teams on infrastructure upgrades, lifecycle management, and technical documentation.
What You’ll BringYou’re an experienced DDI engineer with deep DNS architecture knowledge and a strong understanding of how to build, operate, and troubleshoot complex enterprise environments. Ideally, you bring 8+ years of network engineering experience, including at least 5 years working with DDI platforms.
Experience with DNS Anycast is a major priority. Cygna/ Diamond IP IPControl experience is preferred, and strong Infoblox or BlueCat experience is also welcomed. Familiarity with BIND, Microsoft DNS, DHCP failover, IPv4/IPv6, cloud DNS, and Unix/Linux will help you make an immediate impact.
