Anything requiring a change in policy or procedure is reviewed with the Chief. No two calls are the same. The challenge is dealing with all of the inherent dangers of fighting fire, including potential chemicals, physical elements, and distraught citizens. The reverse is also a problem – getting complacent into thinking all calls are routine calls, and then not being prepared for a true emergency. In conducting safety inspections, the challenge is to make certain nothing is overlooked. This is an individual contributor.
