Acute Care Registered Nurse

North Alabama Medical Center in Florence, AL seeks a Registered Nurse to deliver compassionate, evidence-based care in a fast-paced acute care setting. The RN will assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care, administer medications, and coordinate with physicians and multidisciplinary teams. Responsibilities include patient and family education, accurate documentation, and adherence to safety and infection control standards. Provide direct patient care, including assessment, medication administration, and treatment per provider orders Monitor, document, and report changes in patient condition using electronic health records Collaborate with physicians, interdisciplinary teams, and support staff to coordinate patient-centered care Educate patients and families on diagnoses, treatments, medications, and discharge instructions Ensure compliance with hospital policies, safety standards, and infection control protocols Participate in quality improvement initiatives and contribute to evidence-based practice Support new staff through precepting, mentoring, and teamwork Acute care nursing Patient assessment Medication administration IV therapy and vascular access Wound care Electronic Health Records (EHR) documentation Care planning and care coordination Telemetry and vital sign monitoring Patient and family education Infection control and safety protocols Medical Insurance Dental Insurance Vision Insurance Life Insurance 401k Active RN license in Alabama or compact state eligibility Basic Life Support (BLS) certification Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) preferred or obtained within defined timeframe Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) or other unit-specific certifications as required Specialty certification in medical-surgical, critical care, or related field preferred
