Field Service Engineer

The client supports critical water purification needs, helping customers maintain reliable, high-quality water systems in demanding operating environments. This is a customer-facing field role where strong technical service directly impacts equipment uptime, customer satisfaction, and long-term relationships. As a Field Service Engineer, you'll own service visits from diagnosis through resolution. You'll install, test, repair, and maintain RODI (reverse osmosis/deionization) systems, troubleshoot technical issues, recommend solutions, document your work, and keep customers informed throughout the process. Success means combining hands-on technical ability with dependable follow-through and excellent customer service. This role can be a strong fit for veterans with hands-on maintenance, electronics, mechanical, engineering, or troubleshooting experience. The client is especially interested in people who learn quickly, solve problems methodically, and are comfortable working directly with customers. The position is field-based in the San Jose territory, with approximately 50% local travel to customer sites in San Jose, the Bay Area, Sacramento and the Central Valley. You'll work from a company vehicle and use a company cell phone while managing installations, preventive maintenance, repairs, testing, service documentation, and CRM activity. Flexibility is important, as some assignments may require work outside standard business hours. The work can also be physically demanding, including tight spaces, lifting, bending, squatting, and repetitive movement.
