Design Fabrication Technician
Location:
Natick, MALeidos National Security Sector is seeking a Design Fabrication Technician to join our team and contribute to innovative projects that directly enhance soldier safety, readiness, and mission success.
What You'll DoDesign & Fabricate: Participate in the design, development, and fabrication of parachute and shelter components.
Prototype Development: Create preliminary layouts, execute design details, and fabricate prototypes using knowledge of construction techniques, production methods, and materials.
Precision Repairs: Repair and modify airdrop and shelter equipment with fine seams and replacement parts that match original strength and quality.
Support Innovation: Assist engineers and project managers by fabricating experimental/prototype parachutes, cargo delivery systems, shelters, tents, covers, and other soft-wall structures.
Collaborate & Interpret: Work from work orders, blueprints, sketches, and verbal concepts, consulting with design draftsmen and engineers to bring ideas to life.
Required Qualifications:- Demonstrated ability with industrial sewing machines
- Associates Degree with 2+ years of relevant experience (Additional Experience, Training, and/or Certifications may substitute degree requirement)
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and fabricate products efficiently
- Exceptional attention to detail and ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously
- Solid analytical and technical skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Preferred Qualifications:- Knowledge of personal parachute systems and assembly (civilian or military)
- Experience following technical manual procedures
- Skills in CAD and/or SolidWorksStrong collaboration, communication, and problem-solving skills
