Pediatric ICU Registered Nurse

Wise Medical Staffing seeks an experienced PICU Registered Nurse for a high-acuity pediatric unit in Boston, MA. In this contract role, you’ll provide evidence-based critical care, manage ventilators and complex drips, monitor hemodynamics, and respond to pediatric emergencies. Responsibilities include performing detailed assessments, collaborating with physicians and multidisciplinary teams, educating and supporting families, and documenting care in EMRs. Provide comprehensive nursing care to critically ill pediatric patients in the PICU Perform detailed pediatric assessments and monitor hemodynamic status Manage ventilators, drips, and advanced life-support equipment Administer medications and treatments per provider orders and protocols Respond to pediatric emergencies and participate in codes and rapid responses Collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary teams on care plans Educate and support patients’ families regarding conditions and care Document assessments, interventions, and outcomes in the EMR accurately Follow infection control, safety, and quality standards at all times Utilize self-scheduling to meet unit needs while maintaining work-life balance Pediatric critical care Ventilator management Hemodynamic monitoring Medication administration (IV/PO) Central line care Pediatric assessment Electronic Medical Records (EMR) Emergency response Family education Care coordination Active MA RN license BLS certification PALS certification PICU experience ACLS preferred NIHSS preferred
