COURIER - AOH PLANT OPERATION

Qualifications: High School Diploma or equivalent. Must be at least 18 years of age. Must have a valid Ohio Drivers License. Must have 3 years of driving experience. Must consent to a Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) check. MVR check must demonstrate safe driving behavior as outlined in the Aultman Health System Driver Policy and be approved by Aultmans insurance carrier.

Responsibilities: Perform routine transportation of deliverables: Lab specimens, post office/interoffice mail, department equipment, office supplies, other items as requested. Navigate delivery routes associated with requested deliverables/pickups. Maintains accurate logs, records, receipts and other required documentation. Utilize courier telephone to communicate with internal and external customers appropriately. Mentor and train new employees by providing a positive experiential learning environment. Performs occasional tasks associated with the hospitals Emergency Operations Plan. Vehicle Operations: Maintain safe driving record in accordance with Aultmans insured driver policy. Performs daily inspections on courier vehicle(s). Routine fueling and washing to ensure safety and proper care. Check all fluids, tire pressure. Schedules routine and preventative maintenance to be completed by vendor. Performs vehicle drop of/pick up from vendor. Recognize and practice the highest level of integrity and honesty in maintaining the confidentiality of patients. Participate in hospital competency and continuing education programs. Responsible for checking emails and online learning assignments on a regular basis. Exercise professional judgment to recognize, prioritize and facilitate varying test requests and workload in an efficient manner. Participate department meetings as required. Is aware of and adheres to regulatory guidelines. Think critically and work efficiently in high stress situations. Communicate effectively with colleagues, nursing units, providers, and laboratory leadership. Uses Tools and Tones for High Reliability in order to promote a culture of safety. Accepts responsibilities and maintains an attitude conducive to a cooperative and productive work environment. Adheres to all policies described in the Aultman Hospital Code of Conduct and Employee Handbook.

Working Conditions: Courier service is available 8:30am-5pm M-F or as required for the job. Occasional need for late runs. Occasional weekends and holidays as assigned. Occasional on-call coverage as assigned. Lunch periods and breaks are coordinated with delivery/pickups.
