The Material Specialist Lead will be responsible for overseeing all material-related operations, ensuring seamless integration of procurement, inventory management, and production planning. Proficiently utilize material management and inventory systems, including Microsoft Excel, Vendor’s Shipment Module (VSM) and Wide Area Workflow (WAWF), to effectively track and manage materials and shipments. Coordinate with external carriers and the Defense Logistics Agency (DLA) to ensure the timely and accurate shipment of materials. Analyze material handling, inventory management, and packaging processes to identify opportunities for improvement. Bachelor’s degree in supply chain management, Logistics, Business Administration, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
Establish global stocking and planning strategies by SKU including make-to-stock (MTS), assemble-to order (ATO), and buy-to-order (BTO) to optimize inventory while delivering the required service level. Be the subject matter expert related to SAP processes and execution of all end-to-end supply chain functions including Forecasting & Demand Planning, Purchasing, Production Planning & Scheduling, Distribution Planning processes. Knowledge and hands on experience in MRP and/or ERP systems specifically related to inventory control, materials requirements planning, distribution planning, item master settings, demand planning, and production planning. LEAN Manufacturing/OSHA Safety certifications are a plus.
