The Head of Software Engineering will work as part of the Core Services group at Burford andwill be responsible for developing and applying standards, tools and best practices for softwaredevelopment and data management across all areas of the firm.. Establish and manage software development tools and technologies (e.g., GitHub,Jenkins, Kubernetes, Azure DevOps, etc. Strong familiarity with Microsoft Azure services, including Azure Functions, Azure SQL,CosmosDB, and Azure DevOps. Manage the deployment and maintenance of servers, containers, networks, storage, and other infrastructure components using infrastructure as code (IaC). Implement best practices for cloud architecture in areas of observability, elastic scalability, redundancy, and disaster recovery. Develop and implement comprehensive security policies, procedures, and controls to safeguard the company's infrastructure and data. Conduct regular security assessments, vulnerability scans, and penetration tests to identify and address potential security vulnerabilities. Strong technical expertise in cloud platforms (AWS preferred, Azure, GCP), networking, virtualization, and containerization technologies.
