The primary role of the Logistics Specialist (LS) involves loading and unloading tires for warehouse storage and/or timely customer delivery, including the unloading and staging of products at the customer’s business location.. This position reports to a Logistics Lead. Loads, unloads, inspects, and tallies tires to and from transport vehicles (trailer trucks/box trucks/delivery vans).. Maybe required to handle hazardous materials and wear various forms of protective equipment (gloves, protective eyewear, etc. Extended day, evening, and weekend work (including Saturday) may be required as job duties demand and may include little to no advanced notice.
This role provides effective and accurate analysis of customer order fulfillment via import coil, capacity and lead time planning, freight costs, expenditures, and on-time delivery performance. Support Logan Aluminum on freight claims as needed.. Collaborate with suppliers, freight forwarder(s) and carriers to make sure import coil shipments are booked and shipped timely, and in the most cost-efficient method. Analyze Commercial sales requirements (including Long Range Plan) and recommend strategies to optimize order fulfillment via import coil.. Support demand planning processes and systems to improve forecasting by accurately completing ad-hoc and bi-monthly Sales Planning Forecast (SPF)
