The Special Education Instructional Assistant (Teaching Assistant) is a non-certified assistant to the Special Education Program at the academy. Great Hearts Academies is a growing network of 49 classical liberal arts academies across Phoenix (AZ), Baton Rouge (LA), Dallas/Ft. Worth (TX), San Antonio (TX), and Florida (fall of 2026). We currently provide over 28,000 K-12 students with access to a high quality, classical liberal arts education, without the barriers that often come with private prep schools. Candidates will need to pass a background clearance process, including the obtaining of an Arizona Department of Public Safety Fingerprint Clearance Card. The ideal candidate has two years previous experience with behavioral support in Special Education.
Utilizes knowledge and skills related to crisis intervention and verbal de-escalation in order to provide a safe environment for students, visitors and staff.. Responds to a "Support Code" in a therapeutic, appropriate manner as prescribed in the annual TCI inservice..
