Progressive Care Registered Nurse

North Alabama Medical Center in Florence, AL is seeking a Registered Nurse for our Progressive Care unit. In this role, you will provide compassionate, evidence-based care to acutely ill patients, collaborating closely with an interdisciplinary team. Responsibilities include patient assessment, care planning, medication administration, monitoring complex conditions, and educating patients and families. Deliver direct, high-acuity bedside nursing care to progressive care patients, including continuous assessment, monitoring, and documentation of clinical status. Interpret and respond to cardiac and telemetry monitoring, recognizing and escalating changes in rhythm or patient condition. Administer medications, IV therapies, and treatments safely and accurately in accordance with physician orders and hospital policies. Develop, implement, and evaluate individualized plans of care that support recovery, stabilization, and safe transition or discharge. Collaborate with physicians and the interdisciplinary team to coordinate diagnostics, procedures, and ongoing treatment plans. Provide education and emotional support to patients and families regarding diagnoses, treatments, medications, and post-discharge care needs. Maintain strict adherence to infection prevention, patient safety, and quality standards, including accurate documentation in the electronic health record. Participate in unit-based quality improvement, evidence-based practice initiatives, and professional development activities. Prioritize and manage multiple patients in a fast-paced environment, utilizing strong critical thinking and time-management skills.
