Senior Musical Instrument Retail Sales Associate

Music & Arts seeks a Senior Sales Associate to lead customer experience and drive sales in our retail store. In this role, you’ll guide students, parents, and educators in selecting instruments, rentals, repairs, accessories, and lessons. You’ll model outstanding service, mentor team members, maintain merchandising standards, and support store operations including POS, cash handling, inventory, and lesson scheduling. This position is ideal for experienced retail professionals with a passion for music and education who thrive in a collaborative, performance-oriented environment. Assist students, parents, and educators in selecting instruments, rentals, repairs, accessories, and lessons Drive sales through consultative selling, upselling, and cross-selling Deliver excellent, student-focused customer service at all times Process transactions accurately using POS systems and handle cash reconciliation Maintain merchandising standards, signage, and product displays Support lesson and rental program enrollment and scheduling Help train and mentor junior sales associates by modeling best practices Monitor inventory levels, restock shelves, and assist with receiving shipments Resolve customer issues professionally and escalate when needed Contribute to a collaborative, inclusive, performance-oriented store culture Retail sales Customer service Point-of-sale (POS) systems Product knowledge – musical instruments Lesson and rental program sales Merchandising and inventory management Communication Cash handling and reconciliation Upselling and cross-selling Basic computer skills Medical Insurance Dental Insurance Vision Insurance 401k Background in music performance, education, or retail strongly preferred Knowledge of band and orchestra instruments and accessories Point-of-sale (POS) and retail merchandising experience
