Student Success AmeriCorps Member

City Year AmeriCorps Members serve full-time in public schools to support students’ academic and social-emotional success. Working on diverse teams, members provide in-class support, small-group tutoring, and mentoring in core subjects, while helping create a positive, inclusive school climate. In partnership with teachers and staff, you’ll track student progress, reinforce lessons, and lead schoolwide activities. City Year offers robust training, leadership development, and a collaborative culture dedicated to educational equity, social justice, and personal growth. Provide daily in-class support and small-group tutoring in core subjects Mentor students to build social-emotional skills and positive relationships Collaborate with teachers to reinforce lessons and track student progress Support schoolwide initiatives, events, and positive school climate activities Collect and enter student data to monitor outcomes and adjust support Participate in ongoing training, reflection, and professional development Engage families and community partners when appropriate Small-group tutoring Classroom support Youth mentoring Lesson reinforcement Behavior management support Data entry and progress tracking Basic educational technology (e.g., Google Classroom) Communication with teachers and staff Cultural competency Time management Medical Insurance Dental Insurance Vision Insurance Life Insurance AmeriCorps eligibility (U.S. citizen or legal permanent resident) Ability to pass background check Prior youth mentoring or tutoring experience preferred
