AmeriCorps Student Success Tutor & Mentor – K-12 Education

City Year AmeriCorps Members serve full-time in public schools to help students thrive. In this role, you’ll provide in-class and small-group tutoring, support teachers with classroom management, and mentor students to build academic and social-emotional skills. Working on a diverse team, you’ll help implement school-wide initiatives that promote equity and student success. City Year offers robust training, leadership development, and a collaborative, mission-driven culture focused on social justice and personal growth. Provide in-class and small-group tutoring in math, English, and other core subjects. Build positive relationships with students as a mentor and role model. Support classroom teachers with instruction, behavior management, and engagement. Track and report student progress using established tools and data systems. Plan and lead attendance, social-emotional learning, and after-school activities. Collaborate with a diverse AmeriCorps team to support whole-school initiatives. Participate in ongoing training, coaching, and leadership development. Engage with families and school staff to support student success. Uphold City Year’s values of service, equity, and inclusion in all work. Represent City Year and AmeriCorps with professionalism in the school community.
