Ammonia Refrigeration & Boiler Operator – Food Manufacturing

As an Industrial Ammonia Refrigeration Operator, you will help keep Cargill’s protein facility running safely and efficiently by operating and monitoring ammonia refrigeration and boiler systems. You’ll inspect and log system readings, test and treat boiler water, and respond to equipment issues to maintain stable temperatures and steam supply. The role also supports basic electrical control troubleshooting and follows strict safety and environmental procedures in a 24/7 food production environment. Monitor and maintain ammonia refrigeration systems Perform shift audits of boilers, steam plant, and steam end users Test and treat boiler feed water and monitor RO and water softeners Inspect boiler, condensate, and feed water systems to detect and correct malfunctions Maintain accurate logs of meter and gauge readings and water test results Assist in troubleshooting and repairing electrical control systems Work a rotating schedule that may cover 24/7/365 operations Follow strict safety procedures, including eye protection rules in engine room Ammonia refrigeration system operation Boiler operation and maintenance Water treatment for boiler systems Industrial safety and Hazmat procedures Industrial electrical control troubleshooting Compressed air system knowledge Equipment monitoring and logging RO and water softener system operation Industrial maintenance troubleshooting Food plant utilities operations Medical Insurance Dental Insurance Vision Insurance Life Insurance 401k RETA Certification IIAR Certification Hazmat Level A Entry Certification Industrial Refrigeration or Boiler Tech Apprenticeship/Associate Degree
