The successful applicant will be expected to: train graduate students currently working towards their master’s degree and professional educator licensure in special education; supervise candidates doing their field, internship, and student teaching experiences; supervise master’s theses and capstone research projects in special education; engage in research and grant writing activities; and develop partnerships with local school districts and community agencies. Applicants must have: an earned doctorate (from an accredited university) in Special Education, Administration and Supervision of Special Education, or a closely-related field of study by date of appointment; experience teaching on-line, face-to-face, and hybrid courses in a higher education setting; experience teaching with technology; and a record of submitted as well as receipt of competitive grants or externally awarded funding. Demonstrated record of scholarly research/published work related to the field of special education is also required, in addition to evidence of three years or more of successful teaching/administrative experience in a higher education and/or special education setting as evidenced in evaluations. The successful candidate will have: teaching experience at the graduate level; evidence of scholarly research; record of submission and receipt of competitive grants or externally awarded funding; and experience advising students enrolled in the master’s degree program in a face-to-face and online format. The candidate shall have a successful record of grant writing and scholarly activities; experience teaching a variety of undergraduate and graduate level courses in special education (as evidenced in evaluations); proficiency in using technology; and an awareness of and sensitivity to working with candidates from multicultural population.
